Deercrossing
Residence — San Rafael, CA
We were commissioned to design a swimming pool, cabanas, and
gardens for a mansion built in 1906. We chose the classical
approach of a central axis to the mansion's entry hall. The
terraced gardens were placed symmetrically with that axis, as
were the cabanas and outdoor fireplace. Details of columns,
dentils, and cupolas echo the design of the old mansion. (Landscape
